The SWAT Team and Assault team
are both part of the Special Operations Unit, which is
under the command of the Operations Bureau Commander of United States.
Along with the SWAT Team, the Division of Police has a Assault
Team. The team consists of four members, supervised by a
sergeant. The current supervisor of the team is Sgt. Peter Liu, the
Investigative Supervisor. Each member of the team is required to have
more than five years of service in law enforcement and is trained by the
FBI in basic Assaulting.

Armed with a shotgun, a handgun and a few frags this member goes on a solo mission.
Each piece of equipment has a safety-related purpose and helps prevent injuries to the members, from the helmet to the steel toe boots.
Team members are transported to and from the scene of a raid in an unmarked van. This allows for an element of surprise and does not draw a crowd of spectators, such as a large marked vehicle would do.
The S.W.A.T. Van is used by the Division to transport the S.W.A.T. Team to situations where stealth is not necessary.
The van was obtained as a surplus military vehicle. The paint and markings were donated.
Team members prepare to enter a building during a training exercise. Each team member has a specific task to accomplish once inside.
